"Las Hammocks"

Local Sayulitans and neighbors of Enrique and Janet Muller's   "Las Hammocks"   condo development in Sayulita are outraged by the constant discharge of raw sewage onto the beach from the condos.   A nauseating stench emanates from the area on a daily basis and according to local environmental groups, the septic system is inadequate to handle the discharge from the 6 units situated on the overdeveloped site.

Complaints have been filed in the state capital of Tepic with Federal officials charging the Muller's with the illegal sewage discharge as well as illegal building in the restricted federal maritime zone. The Mullers and their American partner Mark England face punitive fines and potential imprisonment if the violations are not corrected.   In addition, a neighborhood group is forming to discuss ways to force the Mullers and Mr. England to mitigate the negative environmental and social impacts caused by the poorly planned project on the neighborhood.
